Bailey Connor ’15 joined the E-Club at the beginning of the 2012-13 school year. At the same time she came to Peter Abramo, the Director of Entrepreneurship, and said she was trying to figure out what her major should be. She had been discussing possibilities with her advisor and with other APEX staff members. She went with a group of students to an entrepreneur expo in Cleveland and was able to speak with many start-up entrepreneurs who were there to talk about their companies. This increased her interest in entrepreneurship. When a group of three local entrepreneurs visited campus looking for ways to connect with the campus, Peter connected them with Bailey. She spoke with them, visited their business, and became interested in the possibility of becoming more involved. This led to discussions among Peter, Bailey and the entrepreneurs to craft an internship for the upcoming summer that will lead her to Peru. Bailey applied for and was awarded an APEX Fellowship. In addition, Bailey is gaining experience in writing a business plan based on what she has been learning from these entrepreneurs.
