Christina Haupt ’15 attended a TEDx event in Zurich which generated her interest in the concept of sharing new ideas. In the fall semester, she applied to TED for a license to hold a local TEDx event at The College of Wooster. She began to plan the event, including selecting the theme and inviting some initial speakers, but quickly realized that she could not do this event on her own. Not sure where to turn, she came to APEX and to Peter Abramo, the Director of Entrepreneurship began working with him. Together they were able to gather a team of students, build out the program of speakers, and address all of the organizational issues of putting on an event with 100 attendees, a streaming video, and a website. Her dream of hosting a TEDx event became reality due to the assistance she found in APEX and the way that APEX helped her to network across the campus with other departments.
