Whether it was communicating game strategy on the soccer field with his teammates or presenting on a potential investment opportunity to the Jenny Investment Club, David Mallet says that collaborating effectively was always a crucial aspect of being successful at Wooster. An Economics major, he believes that the communication and critical thinking skill set Wooster provided him allowed him to remain flexible within the fast-paced classroom environment he finds himself in each day. Furthermore, his weekly I.S. advisor meetings challenged his abilities to think critically and analyze data pertaining to his economic interests. Mallet has been able to utilize these tools with his high school students in classroom engagement strategies as well as when analyzing his students’ academic achievement. Beyond his commitment with Teach for America, he plans to attend graduate school and pursue a professional career in business.
