Journalism is one of the worst fields to be in right now, but the liberal arts education gave me the flexibility to deal with the changing medium as well as providing me with a few backup plans! My I.S. was probably the most helpful result of my Wooster career. I created a news magazine, so when I’m interviewing or pitching ideas I can just bring a copy to show potential employers my photos, design and stories. It illustrates my abilities a little more concretely than just having a full resume and a few clips.
I’ve actually been reporting/editing for seven years now, and am thinking of transitioning to book publishing. I’m currently in Chicago, but would like to move to Madrid and eventually settle down in the Bay area.
