In her sophomore year, Psychology major, Katherine Laubacher and her friends started a volunteer program house called Poverty Outreach House through which they helped a church in downtown Wooster with their breakfast program. This experience gave her practical knowledge and contributed greatly to her future plans. She believes her time in classrooms at Wooster provided her with an excellent theoretical understanding of many topics, but her experiences outside the classroom prepared her for life after college in ways she never expected. In fall 2014, Laubacher began her MA in Food studies with a concentration on Food Politics. She is excited to have found a program that will allow her to combine her interests in food justice, sustainability, and public policy.
