As a current Master’s student at the Indiana University Lilly Family School of Philanthropy, Kyla McEntire is pursing an MA in Philanthropic Studies as well as a certificate in Nonprofit Management. The skills she used in her coursework as a political science major at Wooster are the same skills she uses in graduate school every day: independent thinking, critical reading/writing and importantly, research. She believes her professors and peers at Wooster helped train the scholar she is today, which has allowed her to succeed as a graduate student. After an MA, she would like to work at a grant making entity at a corporate foundation that focuses on improving human rights, especially education. This would allow her to strategically collaborate with nonprofits, while being directly connected to making a positive difference both in and outside the local community.
