Kristen Weischedel ’12 finds work with theĀ French Ministry of Education.
Wooster’s education has prepared me for life after Wooster by giving me important skills. While my coworkers are consistently worried about meeting tight deadlines and communicating consistently in French, I am at ease. Due to IS and the study abroad requirement for foreign language majors, I have already used these skills both in my IS (over half of mine was written in French), my oral defense and while living with a French family during my semester abroad.
I.S. has given me many other “real world” skills; I can write papers and summaries on a moment’s notice and the liberal arts approach has taught me other ways to think about problems and their solutions. With these skills I easily handled the transition of living and working in another country and the cultural differences.
With the completion of my contract, I will return to the northeast where I hope to find some work in research of non-profit sectors and eventually go to graduate school.
